Nicole Johnson elected as Mayor

The Village of Berwyn is excited to welcome Nicole Johnson as the newly elected Mayor. Nicole was elected during the Village of Berwyn Organizational Meeting held on October 10, 2024. She has served as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor during her two-plus years of service. When she first started on Council, there were only three Councillors; now, there is a full Council of five.

Nicole lives in Berwyn with her husband, Nolan, and their two children, Jax and Hunter. They are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy quadding, camping, and snowmobiling, and they love spending time with family. In addition to her role as Mayor, Nicole serves on the Lac Cardinal Regional Economic Development Board and the Berwyn Library Board, and she has aspirations to join the Alberta Municipalities Board in the future.

Nicole expressed her enthusiasm for Berwyn as a strong and unified community where everyone is dedicated to making it the best it can be. “I think it’s hard enough these days to get by. How wonderful it is to have a community where we can help one another, support each other, and share great ideas for our Village,” says Nicole.

She also noted that the Council is eager to hear ideas and concerns from residents, business owners, and supporters. “With the input of our community and the dedication of our Council, I believe Berwyn will continue to thrive as a great place to live.”

Congratulations, Nicole, and thank you for your service on Council and your evident dedication and passion for the Village of Berwyn.
